Playwright Morgan Breon of the stage play, "Waking Up Alive" was invited to Wayne State University to move the mission of the her business, Heal.Be.Live., LLC forward: using art to start conversations.
Co-chair Darlene Pennington-Johnson of the Gender and Equity Committee of the President's Commission on the Status of Women (COSW) at Wayne State University asked Breon to speak at their conference this year on "Intersectionality." The conference featured three main speakers discussing intersectionality in a variety of ways. Breon's presentation, which was inspired by "Waking Up Alive" discussed the intersectionality between: art, faith and mental illness.
